The muffin is so good. We will come back next time when they’re not about to close, because we visited when they were almost closing, so we didn’t really get a lot of choices.

I’ve been going to Bert’s, since it was a “Breadhouse” and now as a “hideout”. There’s definitely more space and the atmosphere has changed a good deal. The thing that hasn’t changed is the quality. The breakfast sandwiches, pastries, pies, etc. they’re all still incredible. I will say, with the new setup, it does take longer for Bert to make the food. Plan some extra time into your visit or call ahead for an order.

A great place I went to after an early wake up call from the apartment smoke alarm cause a neighbor's burnt toast. The croissant was huge and delicious. (Nothing burnt)

Perfect spot to catch up with my friend. Bert and Diane were supremely gracious hosts and Bert’s food was delicious. I enjoyed the avocado toast on Bert’s signature sourdough bread, and my friend had the broccoli and cheddar quiche. We arrived less than an hour before closing time and were warmly received, served promptly, and not at all rushed. Bought a loaf of his wonderful sourdough to bring home with me. We will definitely be back so we can sample more goodies - looking forward to trying the giant soft pretzel! Thank you, Bert and Diane!

Picked up 3 giant pretzels this morning, but must pre-order to insure you get on of the fresh made delights. I got the cheese dip and requested jalapeños. They were still warm from the oven at the requested time. Moist and tender. Just off the main street, a nice local gem. Stop in and say Hi to Bert, his wife and staff. Food is made to order, so order ahead or sit and enjoy a beverage while the food is hand made in the back from scratch.

Such a lovely surprise to stumble upon! Visiting from out of town and I was drawn by the availability of baked goods, coffee, and wine!! The husband and wife duo was super friendly. So affordable (coming from NYC) , and extremely warm/inviting inside. Can’t wait to taste this apple galette!

This is a small place tucked away off the main street. It is very nice inside and has outside seating as well. I got the giant pretzel which is definitely big and delicious. I also got some pistachio biscotti which had a lot of pistachio not just flavoring and was very tasty. They had a nice selection of snacks too. I plan on going back to try breakfast soon.

This was introduced to me as a breakfast place, but I will likely be back for late lunch to try the appetizers and other food options. The server is friendly and attentive but not pushy. The food is delicious! Try to pretzel bagel and you won't be disappointed. We tried the snickerdoodle cookies too and they were tasty.

I love this place. They serve breakfast and lunch and we opted for the breakfast. It’s small with a couple tables outside and inside, but we were able to get a seat without a problem. We ordered egg sandwiches, one on fresh baked roll and the other on fresh baked sourdough bread. Both were large portions and they came out piping hot. They were fantastic. Service was great and very friendly. Everything is home baked here from bread to pastries to muffins. We had a few cookies and brought home a loaf of bread for dinner. We were very happy that we did discovered this place. Highly recommended.

Bert's Hideout is a little gem in Fishkill! Clean and welcoming on the inside offering a variety of hot & cold drinks for a fair price and a taste of hand crafted quality. The baked goods selection has a nice variety and presentation for when on the run or sitting at a table. For the hot brunch selections I recommend the omelet, it's fres made to order and hearty. Some off street parking and on street parking is available. Will definitely be back to sample more of the selections.
